SCIENCE FACT – my last name is Volpi and Volpi means “foxes” in Italian. FOXES! Here’s PROOF!
Ok. I really like that movie Fantastic Mr Fox (I should pause here (paws here? Lolololol?) to say that I’m working on my third mimosa). It’s a great movie about foxes living their dreams. And dang it – that’s how I feel! And if I ever get a tattoo – it would be this! A fox wearing a bow tie! But I’m afraid of tattoos so I’m sorry if that doesn’t jive with your liberal pro-tattoo agenda!
Back to the movie. It was really the most perfect movie ever made. If you haven’t seen it, the main fox has a son and a nephew and they get into a situation at a farmer’s house and there’s an escape caper. (Escaper? No. Too stupid) They get sidetracked by the farmer’s wife’s cookies so I replicated them. Mrs. Bean’s Nutmeg Ginger Apple Snaps. I found this recipe on the Internet and – real talk – the cookies were awful. There’s a reason you don’t find apple cookie more often. They stink! Here’s the link to the recipe I used. Terrible cookie recipe link here.
NOTE – I would add an egg and more sugar to this recipe to help with the dry, crumbly disasters that you’ll get with this mess.
NOTE 2 – this recipe prominently features apples. Jimmy and I are about to go to the BIG APPLE – which is New York City! We leave today at 6pm and we’re staying inside the highline park! My bed is a shrub! I find out on Tuesday if I’ve won a blog award. I can’t even explain how much I want this award. I will mos def shit myself. So we better go to one of those high-end NYC diaper stores…. Just in case.
NOTE 3 – another movie I like is Parenthood which has Steve Martin and hunk/dope Keanu Reeves. Here’s a link to the best scene – Diarrhea Song
That’s all I have today! Bye!!!
