#71: White Russians

Hi hi hi hi hi hi!

Big big weekend here! My friend Kathleen came into town for a visit. And since Rita and her huz were hosting their annual Big Lebowski Dude-a-thon, we made White Russian cookies!

But here’s a fun secret: I don’t really get the Big Lebowski.

I saw it only once about 10 years ago and it was “just ok”. Ps – I once knew this woman named Linda who sold dental office filing cabinets (this is a real job) and she always seemed to be at parties and things and she was real boring and her nickname was “Just Ok Linda”.

(That story was also “just ok”.  SORRY!)

I do like the Dude though. I like his hair, but I hate his sandals. I wish I was in a bowling league sometimes.  Does anyone want to join me??? How do you even sign up? Where even is a bowling alley???

Anyway!

White Russians! For the Big Lebowski!

Here’s your dang recipe!

Cookie:

2 sticka butter

1-1/2 cuppa sugar

2 eggs

1 tbsp vanilla

2 tbsp instant coffee

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

2-1/4 cuppa flour

Mix all this junk up and chill the dough for an hour. A FULL HOUR! Then cut tumbler shapes out and bake at 350 for like 12 min. Do not over bake these. They should be kind of soft and chewy and if they’re not, they’re GARBAGE! Throw them right into the bin! GET OUT OF HERE!

Frosting: just whip together I stick supa-soft butter, a giant heap of powdered sugar, milk and Kahlua until this resembles a frosting. NOTE – this frosting is so good – just keep the leftover frosting and just dip pretzels in it for a fun post-nap snack!

Frost your tumblers to like like they’re full of White Russians and decorate with some damn cute faces.

Also here’s Kathleen, who I love. Our friend Becky told us that the new way for portraits to be taken is just rest your nose on something. That’s what the top dogs in Chicago are doing….

Also –

And then… our video… honestly I don’t even know what’s happening anymore. Is this how Ina Gardens started????
